Seal Beach is a cool little town with a lot of history at the farthest west corner of Orange County. The Seal Beach Pier is the second longest wooden pier in the state, and can help to shape up the surf during the proper swells. Most of the time, the waves are fairly mellow and inviting, but can get pretty big and heavy in the winter too. The structure of the pier, jetties on either end of the beach, and the shifting sandbars all combine to give this little 1.5 mile stretch of beach many different wave personalities depending on the conditions.
