This poster is a little bit different than most of the WAVE ARCADE WPA Surf Series. After getting many requests and stories about Oil Piers, which sits between Mussel Shoals & Faria, this one felt like it needed a different treatment. The piers featured in this poster were dismantled towards the end of 1998 after their original construction in the 1930s. The structures groomed the sand and directed the swell in such a way to create some consistently good waves that were often the best in the area, and attracted the best surfers in the area. The great surf came with a popular beach party scene where Ventura County youths spent many days in the sun. One request for Oil Piers told me that their catch phrase for Oilies was "The Oil Piers are Beachin.'" That sort of saying feels right at home on a vintage-inspired travel poster. Enjoy!

Frames: Ready-to-hang frames are available for all prints. Hanging tabs can take a simple nail or picture hook. Frames are made out of premium natural oak wood with UV-protective glass. Made in the USA. Frames add about ~1 1/8" to listed W x H.
